- Provide educational programs to community members (mainly high school + middle school students) via educational presentations
- Record survey responses from programs in excel
- Experiment with new and alternative ways and/or programs to spread awareness

- Background in psychology, nutrition, or a related healthcare field preferred
- Should have knowledge of eating disorders, basic nutrition, basic psychology, body image, and related material
- Desire to be involved in an organization that makes a difference in people’s lives
- Has a passion for eating disorders and compassion for those who suffer from the disease
- High level of character and personal ethics
- Ability to speak in front of large groups of people (200+)
- Fun, interactive, and have the ability to drawn in audience (children + adults)
social media
Volunteer Key Responsibilities
- Create a comprehensive social media strategy to define programs that use social media marketing techniques to increase visibility, membership, and traffic across TEP accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Website, Email, YouTube)
- Implement and manage social media programs
- Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities
- Monitor and incorporate trends in social media tools
- Measure the impact of social media on the overall marketing efforts
- Work with staff to understand the activities they may engage in and integrate them in social media

- Extensive knowledge on social media

case management + coaching
Volunteer Key Responsibilities
- Handle phone and in-person requests for information and referral whether from patients, family members or health professionals (100+ calls per year)
- Record all requests on drive and in RR binder
- Keep the website up-to-date with the latest information about treatment centers, therapists, and dieticians, as well as support groups
- Develop and distribute monthly e-newsletter and/or book review

advocacy
Volunteer Key Responsibilities
- Primary liaison and initiator of political advocacy in the field of eating disorders (locally, nationally)
- Will advocate for TEP and individuals struggling with eating disorders
- Create comprehensive plan for meeting needs currently unmet (research current statistics)
- Develop strategy and talking points for passing legislation
Qualities + Qualifications
- Strong and effective communication skills (verbal + written)
- Strong customer relation skills and exceptional interpersonal skills
- Background in psychology, political science, or a related field preferred
- Should be a dynamic communicator, persuasive, and creative meeting planner (with representatives or other influential people)
- Should be a sophisticated participant in the legal sector of eating disorder treatment and barriers to treatment
- Desire to be involved in an organization that makes a difference in people’s lives
- Has a passion for eating disorders and compassion for those who suffer from the disease
- High level of character and personal ethics
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines

marketing
General Volunteer Key Responsibilities + Qualities
- Responsible for helping schedule, organize, and plan special events
- Will work in conjunction with the marketing and development committees to provide day-to-day tasks of promoting marketing TEP in the community
- Work with staff to understand them in the activities they may engage in while marketing TEP in the community
Event Fundraising Management
- Be creative and bring unique ideas and perspectives to TEP fundraising and special events
- Identify and solicit possible event sponsors, participants, and supporters
- Assist with pre and post events, and on-site execution as directed by the event-chair and staff
- Recruit others to volunteer and provide support to these volunteers
Budgeting and Project Management
- Assist in creating and help adhere to project budgets and timelines for special events
- Assist in tracking and collecting funds raised for special events
- Monitor progress of registration, ticket sales, sponsorship, and income goals; and adjust plans as appropriate
- Work with executive director to create income and attendance projects for events
- Conduct post-event follow up and action steps
Recruitment and Retention of Event Participants
- Develop and implement effective recruitment plans and fundraising strategies (as applicable) for events develop proposals and marketing communications meet income goals for events and special initiatives work with other TEP staff members to create successful events
- Perform other duties as required
