The Great Adventure Hunt is a fun and clever puzzle hunt held in late January. Teams of six players (who we call Hunters) visit different sites throughout the venue to solve puzzles, games and riddles. Judges tally the scores, and teams who solve the most puzzles in the shortest amount of time receive special prizes and bragging rights!
The puzzles at the Great Adventure Hunt utilize the skills that relate to the four major domains of early learning: language and literacy skills, cognitive/early STEM skills, fine and gross motor skills and social-emotional skills. Children learn through play, and at the Great Adventure Hunt, our Hunters support us through play! The Great Adventure Hunt is our largest fundraiser, and donations, sponsorships and volunteer support for the Hunt are vital for our mission.
ChildCareGroup works to end the cycle of intergenerational poverty in our community by utilizing the research-based Two-Generation Approach that links our high-quality early childhood education programs with other core programs and services that help families increase self-sufficiency. As ‘early adopters’ of the 2Gen model in Dallas County, we constantly work to refine our programs and services to best meet the needs of the children and families we serve.
