Celebrating our 12th year, Tri Delta Cookies & Castles is a two-day Gingerbread Extravaganza. Each December, families and friends gather to decorate gingerbread houses and cookie men. Participants select delicious decorations from our famous “Candy Bar” filled with 5,000 pounds of sweet treats. The first day event is an annual ladies luncheon where decorating houses and cookies has become a treasured tradition for those who attend. The second day of gingerbread decorating is Cookies & Castles Family Day. This day is a true multigenerational event where parents and grandparents bring children of all ages to experience the magic of the season. Families can choose a morning or afternoon seating for this event. Both days include photos with Santa, raffle items and plenty of holiday music.
The Prosthetics department at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is our primary beneficiary. This includes the care of pediatric and adolescent patients with amputations or limb deficiencies. The hospital’s prosthetics program provides onsite, state-of-the-art custom fabrication along with a full range of care and support from the Physical Therapy, Nursing and Psychology departments. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the hospital is able to continue its mission of giving children back their childhood, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. Our secondary beneficiary is the DDD Foundation, which provides financial assistance to collegians and alumnae.
Hosted by the members of The Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Tri Delta, Cookies & Castles began in 2008. It was important to our group to embark on a project that was inclusive – one that brought together alumnae and our community members of all ages.
