Shop for Good Sunday
The team at Dallas Doing Good loves meeting the incredible business owners in our city who are producing ethically-made products and giving back with every purchase. In honor of Shop for Good Sunday, we wanted to highlight some of our favorite places to purchase holiday gifts!
Rakkasan Tea Company
Unlike most premium loose-leaf tea bought and sold in the U.S., Rakkasan Tea imports solely from carefully selected estates in post-conflict countries as a way to promote peace and economic growth. Teas come in many varieties, and are sourced from countries such as Nepal, Rwanda, and Vietnam. Rakkasan is also a Veteran-owned business.
Tribe Alive’s passion for quality handmade products and responsible commerce is a platform that empowers women to raise themselves out of poverty across the world. Partnering with female artisans in Guatemala, Haiti, India, Honduras, and Fort Worth, TX, they employ at-risk women at living wages.
Fair & Square Imports
Fair & Square Imports is a brick and mortar store in downtown McKinney, Texas and also carries select in-store items online. They work only with fair trade organizations that put the artisan first. All of the items they carry are ethically handmade from over 40 different developing countries. Fair trade empowers someone to help themselves and their family out of poverty through a craft or trade.
